Defenders of the Banc

Episode 53 – Downing the Energy Drinks

LAFC was back at the Banc, so it’s time for another game recap episode from your boys at Defenders of the Banc! Here on Episode 53, re-live the highs, lows, and highs again of the thrilling 4-2 victory over the Jersey Boys.

A Carlos Vela continued to prove that he is the MVP of the league this season, notching two assists and a PK goal on the night. It was a night of set-piece success from the Black and Gold, as passes from Vela led to goals by steady Eddie Segura and Jordan Harvey, the 19th and 20th players to score a goal for LAFC.

In what seems to be a recurring theme this season, two goals surrendered right before the half time whistle made the game much closer than it ever felt. No Walker Zimmerman, due to yellow card accumulation, certainly didn’t help, either. While there were a great number of positives to take away from the match, Bob Bradley certainly can get back in the lab and continue to tinker with the team that is, undoubtedly, the “Best in the West and the Best in the MLS!”

This Day in LAFC History and huge news in the Supporters Shield Update round out the pod. LAFC runs the gauntlet coming up, with a road game at Salt Lake on the 17th and home matches on the 21st against the Smurfs and the Battle for Los Angeles at the Banc on the 25th.

Thanks for listening to another fun episode of Defenders of the Banc! You’ll hear from us next after our third win in as many tries this season against RSL. Defend the Banc!
